The Chicago Excellence in Gardening Awards (CEGA) are Chicago’s only citywide gardening honors recognizing the hard work and creativity that make our city a healthier, more beautiful and more sustainable place. They support the pride we take in our neighborhoods and help us build our communities.
From simple parkways to elegant home gardens to large and productive urban farms, the award winning gardens exemplify the Chicago motto, adopted in 1837, “Urbs in Horto.”
In 2023, the Chicago Bell Garden was recognized for Excellence in Residential Gardening.
Some awards are pay-to-play. Others don't even require you to pay. Just download your award, take a picture of it, post it in your restaurant, and get "recommended." That's Retaurant Guru!
